The Ten Best Luxury Resorts of Phuket

In presenting the following list of the top ten luxury resorts on Phuket Island, it is recognized that it is difficult to make and judge the accuracy of top ten lists.

There is usually room for honest disagreement as to what should have and should not have been included. The following list was compiled by the Asia Direct Group, sponsor of the website “phuket.com,” and is the most authoritative source available.

It is possible that there are other fine resorts on Phuket Island that could be included but certainly these resorts meet high standards of excellence.

A quick look at the top ten list of Phuket Island resorts indicates that most of the resorts are located on the west coast of the island, on the northern part of the coast.

Four of them are located at Bang Tao Beach, another to the south at nearby Surin Beach, another to the north at nearby Naithon Beach, and two farther up the coast at Mai Khao Beach. In many ways this would be a logical location for the best resorts on the island as the beaches are excellent, there are excellent golf courses nearby, and the resorts are either close to or actually inside of two national parks, whose presence has protected this part of the island from extreme development.
