Kata Beach is a very short distance south of Karon Beach.
It is a destination of upper end tourists and this is reflected in the nightlife.
Kata Beach has a greater number of “restaurant-bars” than would be anticipated, the most famous of which is Ska Bar located on the southern end of the beach, and Small Viewpoint and After Beach, which overlook the two beaches of Kata from Kata Hill.
There is a more “down-to-earth” nightlife in Kata. It is concentrated on Taina Road, off of Thai Na Road in central Kata. Nearby is a cluster of about twenty bars known as the Kata Night Bazaar.
Kata Beach is very close to Karon Beach so those seeking more or louder entertainment can easily go to nearby Luang Poh Road.
For those who want something different… they can play miniature golf at Dino Park Mini Golf AND have a drink and eat at the Dino bar and restaurant.
It is located on the headland midway between Kata and Karon.
