The Sea Shell Museum, Thailand

The shell museum is located near Rawai Beach on the southwest shore of Chalong Bay.

Its collection is generally considered to be among if not the best in the world.

It focuses on shells from Phuket Island but also contains shells from all over the globe, and includes numerous oddities and “freak” shells including a 140 karat golden pearl. The shells are organized and arranged into numerous displays and according to scientific classification.

Efforts have been made to obtain the most outstanding representations of all shell types.

There are fossils from sedimentary rock and a sea shell weighing 250 kilograms.

The Shell Museum is open from 8am to 6pm.
